Once it's live, these are on us

Version guard

  • New builds are detected automatically and flagged in the Console
  • One click on Update Now, no logging in to run commands
  • The save is backed up first, and the server comes back online on its own

Server announcements and graceful stops

  • Before it stops, the server posts an in-game announcement
  • It counts down, forces a save, and only then shuts down
  • Players get time to pull back, and no progress is lost

Change settings from the panel

  • 47 world settings change in a form in the Console
  • Save, restart when prompted, and they're live — no logging in to the machine
  • Crossplay (public lobby): one switch and it's on

Automatic backups and restores

  • The save is backed up automatically every 2 hours
  • One click restores it when you need to, a few minutes' work
  • Download any backup to your own computer and take the save with you
  • A save from another dedicated server can be imported, too

Manage your server from Discord, no website needed

Link your Discord account and type /kw in any server or DM to manage your game server. The commands are installed to your own account, so there's no bot to invite.

Manage your server from Discord
  • One command does it

Check status, see who's online, start, stop, restart, update and back up, or send a message to everyone in the game.

  • Replies only you can see

Command replies are visible only to you by default, and the address and password never appear in a channel. Stop and restart ask you to confirm and, by default, give players a countdown.

  • Alerts in your channel

Connect a channel, and starts, restarts, new versions, expiry and players joining or leaving are posted for everyone you play with.

  • Let friends start the server

Use /kw delegate add to let a friend start and restart the server. They don't need an account here and never see the address or password.

FAQ

How many players should I size the plan for?

Every plan card above says how many players it supports online at once — pick the tier that matches the crowd you usually play with. Past that number we stop promising stability: the server starts to stutter and players rubber-band.

Which region should I pick?

Use the Region selector in the plan block above and pick the one closest to the people who'll be playing — the closest one gives the lowest ping. What you can pick is whatever that selector lists at the time.

Can the server restart on a schedule every day?

Yes. The server detail page in the Console has a Daily scheduled restart switch: turn it on, pick a time, and the server restarts once a day at that time. A game server that runs for days on end uses more and more memory and starts to feel laggy — that's what the switch is for.

Can I bring a save from a dedicated server I already run elsewhere?

Yes, from one dedicated server to another, as is. Upload a zip or tar.gz of this game's dedicated-server save on the server's detail page in the Console; we verify it, put it in place and restart, importing only the world and leaving your current settings alone. A save from in-game co-op needs its host ID fixed first — our free save converter does that in your browser, and the result uploads the same way.

Do I have to update the server when the game ships a new build?

No. A new upstream build is detected automatically and flagged on the server page in the Console. Auto-update the game is on by default: the server updates right away once it's certain nobody is online, or otherwise at the daily scheduled restart. You can also click Update Now any time. The save is backed up first, then the server updates and comes back online, with a few minutes of downtime.

When the server has to stop, do players just get cut off?

No. Before it stops, the server posts an in-game announcement, counts down, forces a save, and only then shuts down. Players get time to pull back, and no progress is lost.
